WORLDLYTE - Differences from Genesys

Genlyte licensed the code that forms GENESYS for use within North America. That same code has been extended to be WORLDLYTE, available outside North America.

For the availability of GENESYS within North America, see http://www.lightolier.com or contact Lightolier® at (508) 679-8131 by phone or (508) 674-4710 by fax.

Additional Features in WORLDLYTE

The entire manual text is available on-line, with hyper-text links. You can get from the help on a window to the help on any field in that window. You can page through a section or a chapter by just hitting the > key. A listing of (all?) error messages is included in the on-line text.

Luminaire searches are now blazingly fast, and allow an unlimited number of luminaires to be found. (You still have to page through the entire list, but 22,000 luminaires can be found by an empty search!)

Calculation and Output

On contour plots, you control the values used for contour lines (for each separate grid and metric).

On printouts and screen display of calculations, you control how many decimal digits of precision are used (for each separate grid and metric).

For sports and flood lighting design, TV illuminance is available.

For outdoor roadway calculations, roadway luminance and one form of equivalent veiling luminance are available.

Illuminance can be calculated with the light meter tilted, even aimed straight down.

Luminaire Layout and Design

You can create your own luminaire symbols.

On the screen display, you control the colors used for each type of luminaire in the schedule and for the aiming lines from that luminaire type.

On graphic printouts, you control the dot patterns used to display each type of luminaire in the schedule and for the aiming lines from that luminaire type.

When moving luminaires, you can choose a mode that moves the aiming when the luminaire is moved.

If you change aiming modes, WORLDLYTE converts to the new system if you change the aiming of a luminaire.

When creating or changing luminaires in the schedule, you can select from a list of the available photometrics.

Technical Enhancements

WORLDLYTE requires less available DOS memory.

WORLDLYTE can even be run on a monochrome monitor with a Hercules compatible graphics card!

PS/2 style mouses are supported without a mouse driver
